However, Juan and the Little Bird is just a fiction or a myth because Juan is not a warrior. He doesn’t have any strong edged weapons because what he has is just kindness. This also reflects one of the characteristics of the Filipinos. They are known to be kind and respectful people. However, another thing that makes this story a fantasy is the presence of the king, queen and the princess. The Philippines never became a monarch. Therefore, the story revolves of the life and the journey of a young man. It exposes his characteristics that lead him to be successful. It also shows fantasy by letting the bird talks in the story. Overall, it manifests a good relationship that will enable the readers to help everyone, even animals that are in need. This goes with the famous saying of the Filipinos that “Kung may itinanim, may aanihin” (You will surely harvest what you plant) and the famous commandment of God that says “Do to others as you would have them do to you”-Luke 6:31. In fact, every good thing that we do will surely come back to us in the future.
